Privacy Policy

What is Cinct?

Cinct (cinct.ai) is a web application that converts video and audio content into AI-generated notes, summaries, and transcripts.

Data we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and profile image from your OAuth provider (Google).
  • Video/audio URLs: URLs you submit for processing.
  • Uploaded files: audio and video files you upload for transcription.
  • Generated notes: the AI-generated content, if you choose to save it.
  • Usage data: IP address (for rate limiting), credit balance, and processing metadata.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID, not card details.

How we process your data

  • Video transcripts are generated using Deepgram (speech-to-text) or fetched from existing captions.
  • Transcripts are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate notes.
  • Uploaded files are deleted immediately after transcription. They are not retained.
  • You choose whether notes are saved to your account or downloaded only (nothing stored).

Data retention

  • Saved notes are automatically deleted after 90 days.
  • You can delete any note at any time from your account.
  • If you choose “Download only”, no note data is stored on our servers.
  • Uploaded files are deleted immediately after processing.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Cinct:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI note generation
  • Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Neon — database hosting (PostgreSQL)
  • Clerk — authentication and account management

Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication (Clerk). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

Your rights

You can:

  • Delete individual notes at any time.
  • Export your notes in multiple formats (Markdown, HTML, JSON, etc.).
  • Delete your account and all associated data.
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us.

Sensitive content

Cinct is not designed for processing sensitive or confidential data. Content you submit is processed by third-party services (Anthropic, Deepgram). Do not upload content containing personal data of others, medical records, legal documents, or information subject to regulatory compliance. Use “Download only” mode to prevent any server-side storage of your output.

Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with UK GDPR requirements. We will also notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where required.
